An Entire City Painted with Light
This beautiful photo above was taken in Toledo, Spain by La Asociación Fotográfica de Toledo or the Photographic Association of Toledo. What makes the photo even more amazing is that it's not the work of a sole skilled photographer but 50 skilled photographers from Toledo!
The association's website has also included an article that details in both Spanish and English how this amazing feat was accomplished. Well worth a read! Read More >>

Photographers Killed in Iraq
This video has made quite a stir on the internet since it was released by Wikileaks a few weeks ago. The video below is a de-classified video recording captured by one of the Army helicopters involved in the incident which led to the death of two Reuters Photographers back in 2007. It took 3 years and a ton of complaining from the folks at Reuters to finally get the US government to release the video. To this day the US government has continued to defend that the military engaged in accordance to the current rules of engagement.
This video is a testiment those who put their lives at risk to photograph the ongoing events of world.

Welcome!
Today marks the first post of my new website devoted entirely to a recently discovered passion of mine, Photography. I have always been an avid admirer of art since I first started watching cartoons as a kid (I still do) and today that admiration of art continues in the form of photography. Since the purchase of my first Nikon DSLR last December I have been taking photos like crazy and frankly I can't get enough of it.
In the past I had always been considered the designated photographer among family and friends and so it was not uncommon to see me with a camera in my hand, but it was only a year ago that I began to start taking photos artistically. At the time I was taking photos with my still in use Canon Powershot SD1000 digital Elph (which was a Christmas gift from my sister) which for the most part was an excellent camera for on the go, lightweight snap shooting, however I found myself one day trying to take a photo of a deer running through the brush in Eastern Oregon when I realized that all my photos were blurry. This caused me a great deal of frustration and I then came to the realization that my camera just wasn't enough, so I search endlessly on the internet to find the right camera for the job.
Being a novice photographer I found myself reading review upon review on different DSLR cameras all of which I had no experience or familiarity with. Another problem was my budget, at the time I didn't have the necessary funds to purchase a top of the line SLR body, so I settle for a more economic option which led me to my current weapon of choice: the Nikon D80. The reviews sounded promising and it was within my price range so I headed the local camera store in Northwest Portland and found it on sale! What luck, not only was I going to get my camera at about $100 cheaper but it came with two kit lenses: the Nikkor VR 18-55mm and the Nikkor VR 55-200mm. The moment that camera became mine it was like a match made in heaven and from that day nothing has been able to come between me and my camera. The rest they say is history.
NOTE: Once I had purchased my Nikon D80 I was stricken with camera fever. I was bitten by the bug and before I knew it I was buying a 50mm lens, an SB600 flash, filters of everykind, and any other photography type gear I could possibly get my hands on.
**IN CONCLUSION**
I started this website with the intention of providing fellow photographers with helpful photography resources for those who wish to improve their craft. So also encourage submissions to this website. If you come across an article or a link to a photography source that you believe would be helpful or interesting please don't hesitate in posting it or sending it my way. I will make sure that you are given credit and recognized.
